The best engagement rings are the ones that hold significance. Japan-based Torafu Architects coated a ring in a thin layer of silver that rubs off over time to reveal an 18-karat, gold wedding band beneath. By wearing each ring, the time shared between two people can thus be physically seen, in order to remind them of how beautiful and strong long-lasting love can truly become as time passes.

This makes me so happy

Whats the Oniwabanshū shirt mean?

cityapproval:

the oniwaban were a group of undercover agents and spies established by tokugawa yoshimune to protect the edo castle during the edo period

each flag/banner embroidered on the pocket has a different meaning all tying into the general concept of the shirt

we also pay homage to rurouni kenshin with the top left flag using the red and black stripes that the character han’nya would wear on his sleeves as he was an oniwabanshū, as well as the right sleeve’s print reading “flowers on your grave”, a quote taken from shinomori aoshi’s promise to defeat kenshin, become the strongest and honor the fallen members of the group who died protecting him
